Tencent sold the developers of Battalion: Legacy for an undisclosed amount
Now, the studio Bulkhead Interactive is owned by a consortium of three companies: Super Media Group, Everplay Group, and Hiro Capital.
Battalion: Legacy
The deal was announced by Bulkhead Interactive itself. The studio did not go into details, but some information was uncovered by GamesIndustry. For instance, it discovered in the UK company's register that Super Media Group is a very young organization, founded in October 2025 by the leaders of Bulkhead Interactive. It seems that it was specifically created to acquire the studio.
Notably, both Everplay Group and Hiro Capital, besides acquiring a stake directly in Bulkhead Interactive, also bought a share in Super Media Group, becoming minority shareholders. The exact portion of Super Media Group that Hiro Capital obtained is unknown. However, Everplay Group reported that it purchased 20% of the company for £2 million ($2.68 million).
Bulkhead Interactive is a British studio that opened in 2014. Its portfolio includes games like The Turing Test, Battalion: Legacy, and Killrun. Currently, the team is working on a first-person multiplayer shooter called Wardogs.
The studio became part of Tencent in 2022 when it was acquired by Splash Damage, which was then a subsidiary of the Chinese giant. In September 2025, Splash Damage separated from Tencent, leaving the fate of Bulkhead Interactive unclear until today.
