Media: Netflix considered buying Electronic Arts
Before initiating negotiations with Warner Bros. Discovery, Netflix executives considered acquiring other companies, reports Bloomberg. According to their information, Electronic Arts (EA) was also among the organizations that caught Netflix's interest.

Netflix reportedly also discussed acquiring Disney, Fox, and essentially "almost all major assets up for sale."
However, in the end, writes Bloomberg, Netflix executives couldn't reach a consensus regarding these companies. Partly because they feared inciting investor dissatisfaction and harming Netflix's stock value if they overpaid for an asset they deemed insufficiently valuable. Therefore, they later shifted their focus to Warner Bros. Discovery, considering a deal with them more promising.
The exact timing of these discussions at Netflix is not specified in Bloomberg's article. It appears this occurred before September. At the end of that month, EA announced that it would be acquired by a consortium of investors for $55 billion.
