Katsuhiro Harada is set to depart from Bandai Namco by the close of 2025

Katsuhiro Harada, a key figure in the Tekken series, has announced his exit from Bandai Namco after thirty years of involvement.
Via a social media post, Harada reflected on recent life events prompting him to evaluate the "time I have left as a creator." He noted that the Tekken franchise's 30th anniversary seemed an appropriate point to conclude an era.
He shared that he has faced the loss of several close personal friends and observed respected senior colleagues in the industry retiring or passing away.
In this context, Harada sought advice from Ken Kutaragi, whom he considers a paternal figure, and credited him with offering significant support and advice that helped in reaching this decision.
Over recent years, Harada has gradually transitioned his duties and the narrative and worldbuilding elements of Tekken to the broader team.
Reflecting on his tenure, Harada expressed that his journey involved working on a diverse range of projects, each with unique challenges and learning opportunities that he treasures.
He extended heartfelt thanks to all supporters, international communities, and his longtime colleagues for their unwavering support throughout his career.
Having joined Bandai Namco in the early 1990s, Harada advanced to become the director and chief producer for the Tekken series.
