Sony is set to produce and publish the debut internally developed game by Bad Robot Games
Sony Interactive Entertainment has revealed its collaboration with Bad Robot Games to aid the development of the studio's first internal game.
The game company will oversee the publishing and production of a new four-player cooperative shooter, led by Mike Booth, Bad Robot Games' chief creative officer, known for creating Left 4 Dead.
This yet-to-be-titled game is undergoing development for both PlayStation 5 and PC, with further details anticipated soon.
In a September post on Reddit, Booth hinted at the project, emphasizing that it builds upon the core principles that made Left 4 Dead unique. "If you appreciated the teamwork, tension, and replayability of my earlier works, you'll likely find this project intriguing," he stated, adding that it expands the cooperative gaming experience in new and exciting directions.
Anna Sweet, CEO of Bad Robot Games, expressed the studio's goal to create a "bold, innovative" gaming experience with the new title.
"Our partnership with Sony Interactive Entertainment gives us the opportunity to bring our new intellectual property to life with an ambitious vision for this universe," Sweet remarked. She voiced enthusiasm about having Mike Booth lead the development of this new cooperative experience, promising memorable adventures with friends.

He noted the studio's distinct creative approach and passion for innovation in interactive entertainment aligns perfectly with Sony's goal to create engaging experiences. Svensson expressed eagerness for players to explore the new world being crafted by Bad Robot Games.
Bad Robot Games, part of JJ Abrams' company Bad Robot, was established in 2018.
