Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 had the best launch on Game Pass in 2025 among non-Microsoft games

Microsoft clarified that when compiling the statistics, they considered the number of unique Game Pass users who tried the game during its first 30 days in the subscription. However, they did not disclose how many subscribers Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 attracted during this period.
The creative director of Sandfall Interactive, Guillaume Broche, commented to Xbox Wire that the success of Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 exceeded all the team's expectations. He also noted that its appearance in Game Pass significantly expanded the game's audience, with those who typically are not interested in turn-based RPGs deciding to give it a try.
Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 was released on April 24, 2025, on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. In just the first day, the game was purchased over 500,000 times, and by early October, its sales had exceeded 5 million copies.
