Media: Savvy Games Group in talks to acquire developers of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang

Sources from Bloomberg have reported that the Chinese conglomerate ByteDance is revisiting the idea of selling Moonton Studio and is in discussions about a possible deal with Savvy Games Group. However, according to their information, the negotiations have not yet concluded, which means the deal might not go through.
It's worth noting that ByteDance itself acquired the creators of Mobile Legends: Bang Bang in 2021 for $4 billion. Two years later, it became known that they decided to sell Moonton as part of restructuring their gaming division, but at the last moment, they changed their mind. Notably, back in 2021, Moonton was almost acquired by Tencent, but ByteDance then made a more generous offer to the studio.
It's also worth mentioning that at the end of August, Savvy Games Group CEO Brian Ward, in an interview with Financial Times, talked about their interest in the Chinese gaming market. He did not rule out that his company might buy someone in China soon. If Bloomberg's information is accurate, the deal with Moonton would indeed fit into these plans.
Neither ByteDance nor Savvy Games Group have commented on the Bloomberg report.
