Ubisoft Report: 1,500 Employees Laid Off in a Year and €1.15 Billion in Net Debt

Ubisoft released its semi-annual financial report after a one-week delay. The company did not announce any new deals: the document was published later due to an accounting error.

Assassin’s Creed Mirage audience exceeded 10 million people

The report covers the period from April 1 to September 30, 2025. Below are the main conclusions from it.

  • Ubisoft reported that compared to last year, its revenue slightly decreased—by 2.1% to €657.8 million.
  • At the same time, net bookings increased by 20.3%, reaching €772.4 million. Old Ubisoft games accounted for 96% of this amount. Looking at the platform breakdown, the figures were as follows: console games generated 59% of all bookings, PC games 23%, and mobile games 7%.
  • Ubisoft is still operating at a loss, but its net losses have decreased. Over the year, they dropped from €246.5 million to €161.4 million.
  • The deal with Tencent to establish Vantage Studios is nearing completion. Following this, Ubisoft will settle its net debt, which amounted to €1.15 billion at the end of September.
  • Ubisoft continues to reduce expenses. In the next financial year (April 2026 to March 2027), it plans to spend €100 million less than this year. Expense reduction will be aided by “targeted restructuring and adherence to hiring discipline.”
  • As of September 30, 2025, Ubisoft had 17,097 employees, which is 700 fewer than at the end of March 2025 and 1,500 fewer than in September 2024.
  • From April to September 2025, Ubisoft’s console and PC games maintained a monthly active audience of 34 million people. The number of unique players was 88 million. According to Ubisoft, this is slightly below last year, but the exact figures were not specified.
  • Ubisoft also announced that 10 million people have played Assassin’s Creed Mirage by now.
  • By April 2026, Ubisoft plans to release four new games: Rainbow Six Siege Mobile, The Division Resurgence, a remake of Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time, and an unannounced title. According to Insider Gaming sources, this could be a remake of Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag.
