Sandfall Interactive and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 dominate Golden Joystick Awards 2025

At the Golden Joystick Awards held yesterday, "Clair Obscur: Expedition 33" achieved significant recognition, securing six awards. Sandfall Interactive, the game's developer, was honored as Studio of the Year.

This achievement parallels the previous success seen by Larian, which also captured six awards in 2023, including both Game of the Year and Studio of the Year.

During the awards ceremony, Sandfall's CEO and creative director, Guillaume Broche, expressed, "It's been an unbelievable year for us... a massive thank you to all the formidable people who worked on this game at Sandfall Interactive, but also, a huge thank you to all the players around the world who voted for us."

Jennifer English and Ben Starr were lauded for their roles as Maelle and Verso, respectively, contributing to the game's wins in performance categories. Additionally, "Clair Obscur" was awarded for Best Storytelling, Best Visual Design, and Best Soundtrack.

Among other notable winners, "Ghost of Yōtei" from Sucker Punch Productions earned the titles of Console Game of the Year and Best Audio Design. "Hollow Knight: Silksong," developed by Team Cherry, received accolades for PC Game of the Year and Best Indie Game (Self-published). Meanwhile, Dogubomb's "Blue Prince" secured Best Indie Game, and the titles of Best Multiplayer Game and Streamers' Choice went to Aggro Crab's "Peak."
