The developers of S.T.A.L.K.E.R have been labeled as undesirable in Russia
The activities of the GSC Game World studio are no longer welcome on the territory of Russia, as decided by the General Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl
In an official statement, the agency explained that the reason was the developers' support for the Ukrainian army: the studio has collected funds for it at least several times.
Additionally, the General Prosecutor's Office writes that in 2024, GSC Game World released "a computer game promoting Ukrainian narratives and containing aggressive Russophobic content." This most likely refers to S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2.
It is not mentioned in the announcement whether the sale of the studio's games will be banned in Russia. However, this option cannot be ruled out. It is also not specified what repercussions Russian gamers who purchased their games earlier might face.
