The main events over the weekend (November 2-4)

Nintendo is preparing for a record year in terms of revenue, with analysts estimating that spending on remakes is double that of remasters, and Dispatch has been purchased over a million times. Here's a rundown of the main events in the gaming industry over the past weekend.

  • Nintendo reported on its financial half-year ending on September 30, 2025. For the company, this period was exceptionally successful. Its net revenue soared by 110.1% to $7.1 billion, while net profit rose by 83.1% to $1.3 billion. The credit for this revenue boost goes to the Nintendo Switch 2, which sold 10.36 million units by the end of September. In light of these achievements, Nintendo has raised its forecast for the entire financial year. It now expects revenue of $14.65 billion—if it achieves this, it will be the best result in the company's history.
  • ARC Raiders topped the chart of the highest-grossing games on Steam for the week of October 28 to November 4, surpassing Counter-Strike 2 and Battlefield 6. It also set a new concurrent player record on the platform. On November 2, the number of simultaneous players in the Steam version of ARC Raiders reached 354,836, placing the shooter at 38th on the list of most popular projects on Steam.
  • The studio Fantastic Pixel Castle, a former subsidiary of NetEase, is about to close. Its head Greg Street announced on LinkedIn that the team's last working day could be November 17. The issue is that Fantastic Pixel Castle has been unable to secure funding since breaking away from NetEase, which is crucial for the studio. Nevertheless, Street remains hopeful that investment can still be found. As a reminder, Fantastic Pixel Castle was founded in 2023 and has been working on an unannounced MMORPG code-named Ghost. The news about the studio's separation from NetEase and its financial troubles emerged just under a month ago.
  • Meanwhile, another former NetEase studio, T-Minus Zero Entertainment, announced its rebirth after closing in September. The leaders repurchased the team's name for an undisclosed amount. They now plan to work in a new, reimagined format inspired by the world of independent cinema. As T-Minus Zero Entertainment explained, the studio will adhere to a project-oriented approach and be more open to partnerships.
  • Analysts from Ampere Analysis studied the revenue of remakes and remasters released on Steam and PlayStation and Xbox consoles from January 2024 to September 2025. They estimated that these titles collectively earned over $1.4 billion, with 72.4 million people spending on game purchases and microtransactions. Notably, average spending on remakes was 2.2 times higher than on remasters. Moreover, remakes showed higher engagement, although Ampere Analysis did not disclose the exact level in their report.
  • Dispatch demonstrated excellent initial sales. Developers from AdHoc Studio reported that the interactive animated series sold one million copies within 10 days of release. It should be noted that four out of the eight episodes of the game have been released so far, but the debut of the remaining episodes won't take long. The fifth and sixth episodes are releasing today, with the seventh and eighth episodes coming on November 12. Dispatch is available on PC and PlayStation 5.
