Roblox revealed it has distributed over a billion dollars to its game developers this year via the Developer Exchange program. This marks a new annual record, surpassing the $923 million achieved in 2024. Previously, Roblox announced a similar milestone for "the previous year" at its Roblox Developer Conference.

During this event, the company also disclosed an increase in the conversion rate for Robux, the platform's currency, when exchanged for dollars. The conversion rate was adjusted to $0.0038 per Robux, elevating the value of 30,000 Robux from $105 to $114, whereas purchasing the same amount costs users $300.

The company highlighted that the average earnings for the top 1,000 creators reached $1.1 million, representing a 40% increase year-over-year. Earnings for creators in the third quarter amounted to $427.9 million, marking an 85% increase from the previous year. According to the company, 47% of creators would not generate income without using Roblox, and only 25% have a university education. Additionally, 74% of developers on the platform operate independently.

User-generated games are a highlight on the platform this year, with titles like Grow A Garden and Steal A Brainrot drawing millions of active players. Additionally, participants can profit through in-game item sales.

Reporting robust growth, Roblox's audience is primarily using mobile and PC, a trend highlighted in separate research by NewZoo, which notes a 54% yearly rise in users aged above 13.

However, this growth is challenged by concerns over user safety on a platform largely used by minors. In response, Roblox has enhanced parental controls and has recently initiated efforts to establish a Parents Council to ensure ongoing feedback and active participation in safety discussions.
