IGN Entertainment, the parent company of GamesIndustry.biz, has elevated Justin Davis, an experienced media executive, to the newly established position of Vice President for Editorial and Commerce. Previously, Davis served as VP of Commerce, managing affiliate content, user subscriptions, and the IGN Store. His extensive career in editorial includes co-founding IndustryGamers, which was later incorporated into GamesIndustry.biz.

The new role aims to merge the company's Editorial, Commerce, Audience Development, and Tech Editorial teams, enhancing communication and collaboration among them. This restructuring includes the integration of the separate Games and Entertainment editorial units to align with audience interests and support a more adaptable content strategy. The success of integrated editorial events like IGN Live and IGN @ San Diego Comic Con was cited as inspiration for this approach.

An integrated editorial team will be headed by Senior Editorial Director Rachel Weber, while Michael Peyton, Senior Editorial Events & Partnerships Director, will oversee the unified Editorial Events, Partnerships, and First Looks team. Alex Simmons, serving as Senior International Editorial Director, will continue to supervise former Gamer Network editorial brands, including GamesIndustry.biz, and lead IGN Entertainment's features. Corrado Caretto will maintain his role as VP of Video, Production, and Social for the entirety of IGN Entertainment.

Reflecting on his promotion, Davis said, "I am thrilled about this opportunity and eager to begin. This is a critical period for IGN and media companies broadly, and I am confident we have the right team and structure to ensure IGN's continued success for another 30 years. I am committed to creating an environment where our talented editors can thrive."

Yael Prough, President of IGN Entertainment, commented, "I am pleased to appoint Justin to this crucial role as part of our strategic vision for IGN Entertainment. Our aim is that our editorial excellence directly bolsters our business expansion, and by consolidating our content teams and aligning our goals, we position the organization to produce world-class editorial more effectively."

Prough additionally announced the plan to establish a Senior Vice President of Content role to lead the merged teams, with the recruitment process set to begin later this year.
