96% of the games sold by Capcom in the past six months were from their back catalog
Capcom also published its financial report, summarizing the half-year period from April to September 2025. The company revealed that it sold 23.85 million game copies in six months — with nearly all these copies being from older titles.
Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny
As Capcom reports, a total of 95.8% of the sales were from its back catalog, amounting to 22.85 million copies. Meanwhile, sales of new releases totaled only 997 thousand copies. However, the company did not have any major releases in the reported half-year: its portfolio was supplemented with titles like Capcom Fighting Collection 2 and the remaster of Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny.
Capcom also announced that its games are now primarily bought digitally. Digital versions accounted for 94% of all games sold over the half-year. Of these, 57.3% of copies were sold on PC, and 36.7% on consoles.

Overall, the half-year was successful for Capcom. Its net revenue grew by 44%, reaching 81.1 billion yen ($534 million). The company's operating profit even soared by 90% to 39.3 billion yen ($259 million).
