Massive Entertainment, a subsidiary of Ubisoft located in Sweden, is offering voluntary redundancy packages to some employees.

The studio conveyed through social media that it has initiated a "voluntary career transition program" to support its ongoing adaptation and strategic goals. This move is designed to maintain its focus on The Division games and its technological advancements like the Snowdrop engine and Ubisoft Connect.

The communication elaborated: "As part of this transition, we've launched a voluntary career change initiative which allows eligible employees to explore new career paths on their terms. This is supported by a package that includes both financial and career-oriented support."

Known for creating the Tom Clancy's The Division series, Massive Entertainment is also involved in projects such as Star Wars Outlaws and Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora.

GamesIndustry.biz sought information from Ubisoft on the number of employees impacted, but Ubisoft did not disclose specific figures.

According to Le Figaro (translated via PC Gamer), the initiative is available until December 15, 2025. It targets employees with permanent contracts who are awaiting reassignment.

Participants in the program are reported to receive severance compensation and support for professional development courses.

On October 22, Ubisoft introduced a "restructuring proposal" at its Finnish studio, RedLynx, potentially affecting up to 60 positions.

Ubisoft explained that the plan is intended to "optimize costs" and bolster "priority and efficiency" within its studio network.
