Ubisoft reveals plans for a "restructuring proposal" concerning RedLynx, potentially affecting up to 60 positions

Ubisoft has put forward a plan to restructure its RedLynx studio.

This initiative forms part of Ubisoft's global strategy to streamline operations, cut expenses, and enhance focus and efficiency across its international studio network.

The proposed changes could affect up to 60 roles, primarily those in production and administrative areas.

The tech team associated with Ubisoft's Snowdrop game engine will remain unaffected by this proposal.

Ubisoft has stated that prior to implementing the restructuring plan, RedLynx intends to engage in collective discussions with employees.

These discussions are planned to start on October 20, 2025, with an aim to reach a conclusion by the end of November.

If the proposal is adopted, RedLynx would transition from a multiplatform studio to focusing specifically on "small screens."

This shift is designed to help RedLynx maximize its specialized skills, particularly with two secret mobile projects the studio is spearheading.

"This proposal reflects tough decisions we might have to face, following thorough deliberation," stated Ubisoft RedLynx managing director, Celine Pasula.

"We understand the significance of this message and its potential impact on our staff and teams."

Pasula further noted: "With these proposed adjustments, we believe RedLynx will continue to have a meaningful impact within Ubisoft, excelling in mobile technology and enhancing Ubisoft's cross-platform and multi-platform capabilities on small screens to broaden our audience reach."

Ubisoft acquired RedLynx in 2011, though the financial terms were not disclosed. Read more on the acquisition here.
