The Sims Mobile is set to be phased out in January 2026
Electronic Arts has revealed that The Sims Mobile will officially close on January 20, 2026. As of October 20, the game has been removed from the Apple App Store and Google Play, making it unavailable for new downloads.

Players who already have the game installed or have downloaded it in the past can still access and update the game. Transactions completed before it was removed will remain functional up to the closure date. However, after the shutdown in January 2026, the game will no longer be accessible, and any unused in-game currency will not qualify for a refund.
EA expressed gratitude towards the community, stating, "The Sims Mobile and The Sims community as a whole are full of creativity, kindness, and imagination. You've amazed us with your stories, builds, and Sims. We're proud to have shared this journey with you."
Earlier this year, EA confirmed there would be no further content updates or events for The Sims Mobile, as reported by Eurogamer. The company has not provided a specific reason for the decision to end the game.
The title was launched by EA in 2018, initially developed by Maxis. Development transitioned to Firemonkeys Studios from 2019 to 2020, and later to Slingshot Studio from 2020 onward. Firemonkeys Studio is also responsible for developing The Sims FreePlay, another mobile version that operates on a freemium model.
