Remedy has lowered its financial forecast for 2025 due to the failure of FBC: Firebreak

The Finnish company Remedy Entertainment informed investors that it no longer expects to achieve an operating profit by the end of 2025. Instead, it now anticipates losses.

FBC: Firebreak is still performing poorly in sales. This forced Remedy to lower its annual forecast

The developers did not specify the projected size of the losses, mentioning only that they will be lower than last year. To recall, Remedy closed 2024 with an operating loss of 4.3 million euros.

The reason for revising the annual financial forecast was the unsuccessful launch of the cooperative shooter FBC: Firebreak. The game received numerous negative reviews at launch, quickly leading to a user exodus. Later, thanks to patches that made significant gameplay changes, the situation improved slightly. However, as Remedy indicated, the sales of FBC: Firebreak still did not reach the desired levels.

Consequently, Remedy has lowered its long-term sales expectations for FBC: Firebreak. It also decided to write off a large portion of the capitalized development and publishing costs of the game—14.9 million euros.

Nevertheless, Remedy added that it does not plan to abandon FBC: Firebreak. It will continue to develop the game but will do so with the revised lower sales forecast in mind.

Amid the forecast revision, Remedy's stock fell by 7%.
