Roblox has introduced its inaugural Parent Council. Led by Dr. Elizabeth Milovidov, head of parental advocacy, this initiative involves gathering up to 40 parents and caregivers from regions including the UK, the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Mexico. The aim is to engage family representatives to ensure technology is used safely and thoughtfully.

The council will collaborate with Roblox’s teams to bring real-world insights into platform decisions. Their role will be to offer a variety of perspectives to enhance community understanding and ensure policies are inclusive of various family experiences. This collaboration is expected to refine safety and well-being initiatives by incorporating the insights of parents into Roblox's ongoing developments.

Dr. Milovidov emphasized, "Our goal is for Roblox to be the safest and most civil place on the internet." She noted that working directly with parents helps in understanding their needs, enhancing safety protocols, and nurturing a space conducive to creativity, education, and meaningful interactions.

Parents and caregivers interested in joining the council can apply through the official website.

In May, Roblox appointed its first head of parental advocacy to bolster support for digital safety and online wellbeing. This role, based in the UK, is focused on creating partnerships and resources that empower parents to guide their children's safe and responsible use of digital platforms.

Roblox maintains that ensuring the safety and civility of its platform users is a top priority, highlighted by the recent enhancements to parental control settings. More details on these features are available here.
