Roblox has introduced its inaugural Parent Council.

Led by Dr. Elizabeth Milovidov, who is the company's new leader for parental advocacy, the initiative aims to unite up to 40 parents and guardians from regions including the UK, the U.S., Europe, Canada, and Mexico. This group will "actively contribute to shaping the responsible, safe, and creative use of technology by families."

The council is set to collaborate with Roblox's teams to offer "practical insights on platform functionalities, regulations, and resources," bring a "variety of perspectives that enhance community representation and cultural empathy," and assist the company in forming "sustainable safety and wellbeing programs by incorporating parental insights into continuous product and policy enhancements."

"We aim for Roblox to be the best example of safety and civility online," stated Milovidov. "Working directly with parents and caregivers allows us to better address their concerns, refine our safeguards, and nurture an atmosphere conducive to creativity, learning, and meaningful interaction."

Parents and guardians are encouraged to apply to join the council through the official website.

In May, Roblox appointed Dr. Milovidov as its first head of parental advocacy. The position is based in the UK and was created to "enhance support for families in managing digital safety and online wellbeing," with goals of "developing partnerships and tools that empower parents to help their children engage with digital platforms safely and responsibly."

Roblox asserts that its main focus has been user safety and civility on its platform, as evidenced by its newly launched enhanced parental controls.
