Epic Games introduces a webshop service available on both PC and mobile platforms

Epic Games has introduced the Epic Web Shops service, catering to PC and mobile users.
This service is accessible through Epic's self-publishing tools, allowing developers to utilize a direct-to-consumer storefront to sell in-game content via Epic's extensive distribution network and ecommerce platform.
Under this scheme, developers can retain all earnings from their first $1 million in net revenue per game. Beyond this, the revenue split will switch to 88% for developers and 12% for Epic.
Purchases made through the Web Shops will qualify for Epic Rewards, providing players with credits that can be redeemed in future transactions.
Once active, Web Shops will appear on a developer's product page under a dedicated 'Web Shop' tab on PCs, allowing the sale of items outside the app. Mobile support via the Epic Game Store app is slated for later this year.
Developers and publishers with a registered Epic Games Developer account and eligible products can take advantage of this new feature.
The service supports selling "consumable sales" like virtual currencies and items, but not Web3 games.
Codename Entertainment stands as the pioneer in deploying a live Web Shop with its game, Idle Champions of the Forgotten Realms.
Earlier this year, Epic disclosed plans for this webshop feature following their legal triumph against Apple, which was documented in a previous announcement.
