Nineteen-year-old Jayden Griffin from South Dakota has admitted guilt in relation to threats directed towards Epic Games. Confessing to sending menacing messages between October 24 and November 9, 2024, he faces a potential five-year prison term, a $250,000 fine, or possibly both.

Initially maintaining his innocence, Griffin altered his plea to guilty on September 29. According to GameSpot, Griffin admitted in court, "I sent messages to Epic Games, where I threatened to kill employees of the company. I intended for the messages to be viewed as a threat at the time that I sent the messages."

Court documents indicate that Griffin is "competent and capable of entering an informed plea," understands the charges and the ramifications, and that the plea is "knowing and voluntary" and backed by evidence supporting the crime's essential elements. The court has adjudged him guilty.

Epic Games has chosen not to make a statement regarding the incident. The date for Griffin's subsequent court appearance remains undetermined.
