The Tencent-supported subsidiary of Ubisoft has been officially named Vantage Studios

In March, Ubisoft disclosed its plan to form a new subsidiary with backing from Tencent, centered on major titles like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six. On its launch day, the subsidiary has been named Vantage Studios.
GamesIndustry.biz reports that it was initially referred to as Nova internally, and the current name was selected via a staff vote.
Vantage Studios is comprised of Ubisoft's teams situated in Montréal, Quebec, Sherbrooke, Saguenay, Barcelona, and Sofia, amassing a workforce of 2,300 people.
This move is tied to Ubisoft's announced strategy to transition into "creative houses," making strides towards a decentralized structure. The aim is for these creative houses to wield greater authority over their artistic vision and business strategies.
Serving as the first of such creative entities, Vantage Studios will chart the course for iconic game series like Assassin's Creed, Far Cry, and Rainbow Six, while still remaining under the umbrella of Ubisoft.
Tencent has acquired a 25% ownership in Vantage Studios as part of a €1.16 billion ($1.25 billion) financial boost. Following the completion of this transaction, it is anticipated by GamesIndustry.biz that Ubisoft will achieve a near-zero debt status.
While Tencent will offer guidance to Vantage Studios, ultimate decision-making authority will lie with the co-CEOs, Christophe Derennes and Charlie Guillemot.
