Ubisoft, with the support of Tencent, has opened Vantage Studios

Ubisoft has officially launched Vantage Studios, its subsidiary created in collaboration with Tencent.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows

As previously reported, the studio is headed by Charlie Guillemot, son of the head of Ubisoft, and Christophe Derennes, founder of Ubisoft Montreal. They lead teams responsible for the Far Cry, Assassin’s Creed, and Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six franchises.

According to a Ubisoft press release, Vantage Studios employs "over a thousand" staff from Canada, Spain, and Bulgaria. Sources from Eurogamer clarify that the total number is 2,300 people.

Vantage Studios has become Ubisoft’s first so-called "creative house" — a division with a high degree of autonomy. In the future, the company plans to launch several more such "houses," which will focus on other franchises. Exactly how the franchises will be divided remains undisclosed.

Ubisoft first announced its decision to create Vantage Studios in March 2025. At that time, it was revealed that 25% of the subsidiary would be acquired by Tencent, which agreed to purchase the stake for €1.16 billion.
