Capcom has announced that they cannot "guarantee" that Monster Hunter games will continue to run on Windows 10 after October 14
Capcom has issued a notification regarding the compatibility of its Monster Hunter series with Windows 10, indicating it cannot "guarantee" the games will function properly on the operating system starting next month.
The company expressed gratitude to its player base for supporting Capcom's products and stated that once Microsoft ends support for Windows 10 on October 14, it will "no longer guarantee" that titles such as Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise, and Monster Hunter Wilds will continue to operate on this OS.
Capcom confirmed on Steam that although these games can still be played on Windows 10 past October 14, 2025, future system or game updates could render them incompatible with the operating system. The company emphasized that it cannot ensure functionality on unsupported operating systems, and any assistance for issues will be limited to existing data from the period before Windows 10 support ends.
In addition, Valve plans to end Steam support for 32-bit versions of Windows 10 beginning January 1, 2026. According to its Steam Hardware Survey from August 2025, only a small fraction of its user base, 0.01%, are on this operating system.
Capcom's president Haruhiro Tsujimoto has also pointed out that the high cost of the PlayStation 5 has impacted Monster Hunter Wilds' sales, despite the game selling eight million units in its first three days, making it Capcom's fastest-selling game ever.
