Capcom has indicated it cannot "guarantee" that Monster Hunter games will be compatible with Windows 10 after October 14
Capcom has announced that it cannot ensure its Monster Hunter games will remain compatible with Windows 10 starting next month.
In a concise message to players, acknowledging their support for Capcom products, the company stated that once Microsoft ends support for Windows 10 on October 14, it will also cease to guarantee that games like Monster Hunter: World, Monster Hunter Rise, and Monster Hunter Wilds will function correctly on Windows 10 devices.
According to Capcom's post on Steam, these games may still be playable on Windows 10 after October 14, 2025. However, updates to the system or the game may result in compatibility issues.
Capcom further stated that it cannot ensure proper game function on operating systems that are no longer supported by Microsoft. If players encounter issues, support will only be provided using information available before Windows 10 support ends. Investigative services for any problems encountered on Windows 10 will also end.
In related news, Valve announced it will stop supporting Steam on 32-bit versions of Windows 10 as of January 1, 2026. Their August 2025 Steam Hardware Survey showed only 0.01% of users were using this system.
Haruhiro Tsujimoto, Capcom's president, recently pointed to the high cost of the PlayStation 5 as a factor for the lower sales figures of Monster Hunter Wilds. Despite this, the game achieved significant success, selling eight million units within three days, thus becoming Capcom's fastest-selling title ever.
