Nival has released the source code for "Blitzkrieg 2" to the public
Recently, the second part of the iconic WWII RTS "Blitzkrieg 2" turned 20 years old, having been released on September 23, 2005. On this occasion, the founder of Nival, Sergey Orlovsky, announced that the game's source code is now available on GitHub.

The published archive includes the full code of the game engine, map editor, scripts, assets, and many other data. All of these are available under a non-commercial license. This means they can be modified and used for educational purposes, but cannot be used to create paid projects.
It's worth noting that Nival released the source code for the first "Blitzkrieg" earlier this year. A bit earlier, in September 2024, they published the source code for Prime World.
It's possible that Nival will share source codes for other games in the future, such as "Blitzkrieg 3." However, no official plans have been announced yet.
