Hades 2 leads Metacritic's PC game rankings for 2025

The sequel to the critically acclaimed game Hades, known as Hades 2, has achieved the highest rating on Metacritic for PC titles in 2025. It has outshone titles like Blue Prince, Hollow Knight: Silksong, and Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. The game progressed from early access on September 25, receiving widespread praise.

With a Metascore of 95 on PC, derived from 30 critic reviews, Hades 2 is setting a high bar. So far, it ranks third among the top-rated games of the year, boasting an overall score of 94. The top spots are occupied by Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom and Breath of the Wild, both for the Nintendo Switch 2.

Data from Alinea Analytics reveals that Hades 2 has sold over two million units on Steam during its early access, generating more than $50 million in revenue. In fact, 1.5 million of these sales happened in the initial two months after it became available.

The game, initially available as a timed console exclusive for Nintendo Switch and Switch 2, is scheduled for a physical release on November 20, 2025.
