Tara Saunders, head of Larian Games studio, continues as the leader of the BAFTA Games committee, as disclosed by BAFTA.
The organization revealed its latest leadership for the film, games, and television sectors in a statement released on September 24, 2025.
Des Gayle from Altered Gene keeps his position as the deputy leader of the BAFTA Games committee along with Saunders.
The responsibility of this committee includes promoting BAFTA's "strategic charitable mission" and influencing the direction of the BAFTA Game Awards. They also offer insights regarding the awards' regulations.
In an August conversation with GamesIndustry.biz, Emma Baehr, BAFTA's executive responsible for awards and content, highlighted the committee's role as a "sounding board" to ensure award standards stay relevant and industry-aligned.
Additional committee members comprise Adele Cutting (audiovisual veteran from EA and Soundcuts founder), Alyx Jones (Silver Script Games creator), Anna Mansi (BFI’s video games and certification leader), Katherine Bidwell (State of Play Games co-founder), and Charu Desodt (studio director for Interior/Night).
Sara Putt, BAFTA's chair, stated, "We are so thankful to our industry committee members, who voluntarily offer their expertise from varied screen sectors."
"These committees are crucial to BAFTA's goals, including our international awards, supporting and promoting screen industries and the talented individuals within them."
In early October, Luke Hebblethwaite, BAFTA's head of games, shared on LinkedIn his departure after over three years, citing his position's termination following "recent internal changes."
Hebblethwaite expressed gratitude for his role in advocating and celebrating the game industry and acknowledged the talent behind successful games. He praised the dedication of his colleagues during his time with BAFTA.
