The inaugural trio of studios participating in Code Coven's Aurora Accelerator and Agency program has been unveiled.

Selected for this initiative are Fast Loris Studios from Yorkshire, Glowfrog Games—a studio led by women—and the independent developer Hologram Ghost.

Within the program, each studio is promoting a specific game. Fast Loris Studios is working on the adventure game "Walkies: Tails of the Sanctuary." Glowfrog Games is presenting "Pieced Together," focused on scrapbooking, and Hologram Ghost is crafting a cyberpunk narrative adventure.

Helen Smailes, co-founder of Fast Loris Studios, expressed enthusiasm about joining Aurora, noting the value of engaging with a community that comprehends the hurdles faced by underrepresented game developers.

"Aurora's support, structure, and mentorship are crucial for us, enhancing our business acumen, fostering sustainable growth, and contributing to a more inclusive game industry," said Smailes.

Claudie Cote-Bergeron, founder of Hologram Ghost, mentioned the anticipation of broadening their professional contacts, enhancing leadership and management skills, and exploring potential support and funding opportunities.

The next Aurora cohort is accepting applications from UK-based developers who can demonstrate leadership comprising at least 50% marginalized genders, starting in late 2025. Apply here.

Earlier in the year, GamesIndustry.biz interviewed Code Coven's CEO, Tara Mustapha, discussing the support for marginalized groups in the gaming industry.

In October, Code Coven secured £510,000 from the BFI National Lottery Innovation Challenge to back its Aurora and Agency program. Read more.
