Lenovo has announced the cancellation of certain pre-orders for the Legion Go Gen 2, attributing this decision to unexpectedly high demand which has led to shipment delays.

According to VGC, Lenovo engaged with users in a Reddit 'Ask Us Anything' session regarding Legion Go Gen 2 on September 15, 2025. Queries regarding delivery delays were prevalent, including a comment from a user in Germany whose September shipping estimate was postponed to November.

In a message on September 17, 2025, Lenovo admitted the need to organize internally before responding to the concerns raised. The company stated, "We've experienced a surge in pre-orders, exceeding our forecasts, causing unexpected delivery delays."

Lenovo assured customers it is making "intensive efforts to meet the orders worldwide expeditiously," expressing gratitude for the community's ongoing support and urging patience as they work to fulfill these orders.

The company acknowledged the oversight and committed to proceeding with greater attention and care in future ventures, describing the setback as a learning experience.

By September 19, 2025, Lenovo confirmed communication with global retail partners, announcing that more units were en route to major retailers worldwide, which should improve product availability shortly.

They further assured customers that while some direct pre-orders on their website would be canceled, this decision aligns with their policy against holding customer funds for undelivered products. Once stock is replenished, Lenovo.com will update availability and reopen orders.

Recognizing the inconvenience caused, Lenovo issued an apology to its clients. The Legion Go Gen 2, crafted with users in mind, has evidently provided Lenovo with valuable insights.

Launching in October, the Lenovo Go Gen 2 is their latest gaming handheld, available from $1,099 for the standard model—featuring an AMD Z2 APU, 16GB RAM, and 1TB SSD—to $1,479.99 for the version equipped with AMD Z2 Extreme, 32GB RAM, and 2TB SSD.

In comparison, the forthcoming ROG Xbox Ally handheld, releasing on October 16, 2025, is priced at $549.99, with the premium ROG Xbox Ally X at $899.99 as reported by GamesIndustry.biz.
