Top Free iOS Apps this Week (USA)

New titles in the list of free iPhone appsFacebook Messenger — the app was released only yesterday, but is already in the top at #1.

The application allows users to exchange messages, communicate in groups, distribute location information, send photos. The release of the app is the result of Facebook’s acquisition of Beluga.

Tap Tap Glee is the #2 app, a game from the Californian developer Tapulous. The game is based on the same gameplay as Tap Tap Revenge: users must press the correct notes according to the music playing.

Escape 3D: The Bathroom 1 is the application number 3. This is a puzzle game in which the hero wakes up in a closed bathroom and, using improvised objects, has to get out.

Minesweeper Q is a game from indie developer Spica.

Crasher is another new app in the top. The game allows users to throw any objects into windows: everything happens according to the laws of physics.

In the game you need to destroy medieval castles. The game is made by casual developer Armor Games. Their Siege Hero HD was also in the top paid apps. However, the position of Crush the Castle HD owes to the possibility of FreeAppADay.

Boxee for iPad is app #13, released on August 9th. The app is quite useful as it allows users to collect all videos from Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr and computer in one place. Moreover, if the user has a Boxee Box, then he can send the video to his TV.

Jamie’s Recipes — App #14. Jamie Oliver is a chef known for his healthy recipes. The app offers 10 recipes (and 3 videos) for free. The user can purchase the remaining recipe packages for $0.99.

Ultimate Gem HD is a three-in-a-row genre game. The app is similar to Bejeweled, but its popularity this week is due to the fact that it was made temporarily free.

Flower Board HD — the game has also gained popularity because it is temporarily available for free.
