Game Republic New Horizons has announced that comedian Maisie Adam will headline the final session of their conference. Known for her participation in the ongoing Taskmaster series on Channel 4, Adam will be interviewed by Christopher Dring, the editor-in-chief of The Game Business. Together, they will also engage in a game of EA Sports FC, one of Adam's favorites.

"Maisie's participation is something we're eagerly anticipating," said Jamie Sefton, the managing director of Game Republic. He noted her growing prominence and connection to the North. "This major gathering is focused on the future of gaming and Maisie exemplifies a dynamic talent achieving recognition across multiple areas."

Sefton also remarked on Adam's competitive streak as seen on Taskmaster, expressing his anticipation for her insights on comedy and the gaming world. "Chris needs to be ready!" he added with a sense of humor.

Among other notable figures scheduled to speak are MachineGames' Axel Torvenius, the creative director for the Indiana Jones and the Great Circle, and Kickstarter's head of games, Asher McClennahan. Torvenius will engage in a BAFTA interview, while McClennahan is expected to discuss strategic practices for gaming companies on Kickstarter, as well as partake in a funding and investment panel.

The conference will feature a line-up that includes representatives from BAFTA, BFI, Hat Trick Productions, Rainy Frog, Supercell, and numerous other industry leaders, platform-holders, and publishers.

Set for October 16, 2025, at Middlesbrough's Riverside Stadium, the event is supported by the Tees Valley Combined Authority and offers sessions on cutting-edge opportunities, technology, market trends, leadership, skills, and investment strategies. Participants can also engage through MeetToMatch for networking throughout the day, with GamesIndustry.biz acting as a media partner.
