A new game publisher is set to launch in Russia, aiming to release 13 games with a budget of up to 30 million rubles over two years
A new venture fund focusing on games and media franchises will also be established.
“Smuta: The Beginning of the Path”
According to the newspaper “Vedomosti,” the founders of both organizations will be the founder of the HR platform Skillaz, Andrey Krylov, and the CEO of the company Aton, Vyacheslav Kim. They plan to launch both the publishing house and the fund by the end of 2025.
Yaropolk Rash, the former product director at Wargaming, will lead the publishing house. In 2026, the publisher is expected to release three games with “franchise potential,” each with a budget of up to 30 million rubles. In 2027, they plan to release 10 more such titles.
Additionally, Krylov and Kim have decided to delve directly into game development. Under their supervision, the MMORPG “Sineus,” inspired by “The Tale of Bygone Years,” is being developed, with a release planned for 2027. In an interview with “Vedomosti,” the businessmen mentioned that they have spent 50 million rubles on the game’s creation so far. They added that the development of “Sineus” is being led by former Wargaming game designer Alexander Minkin and former MY.GAMES external relations director Roman Goroshkin.
Krylov and Kim hope that, with the help of the MMORPG, the publisher, and the fund, they will be able to create their own gaming ecosystem.
