Walter Kong of Blizzard has been elevated to the position of Senior Vice President, head of development for live games and mobile. He shared the news on LinkedIn, expressing his appreciation for the new role. Kong, who has been with Blizzard since 2011, has served as the general manager for the Overwatch franchise for nearly four years. Despite his promotion, he will continue to oversee Overwatch's strategic direction while also taking on responsibilities for Hearthstone, Diablo Immortal, and Warcraft Rumble.

Reflecting on his time at the company, Kong recalled the initial excitement he felt when he started at Blizzard in August 2011. "Even today, after several years, I occasionally have to pinch myself. I've been privileged with numerous opportunities to work alongside talented colleagues, making a significant impact at a company that holds a special place in my heart," he mentioned on LinkedIn.
