GTA VI will be a quintuple-A level game, says the co-founder of Devolver Digital
According to Nigel Lowrie, co-founder of Devolver Digital, the upcoming GTA VI might become the first AAAAA game. He shared his vision during a conversation with IGN.

Lowrie is convinced that GTA VI surpasses all existing games in terms of scale, cultural impact, and the level of attention it receives. Since there are already AAA and even AAAA games (Ubisoft awarded this title to Skull and Bones — Ed. note), he believes GTA VI is worthy of ascending one more step.
Adam Lieb, CEO of the marketing platform Gamesight, agrees with Lowrie. He noted that for the past one and a half years, there has been hardly any discussion about game release windows that didn’t mention GTA VI. Even developers working in completely different genres consider the release date of GTA VI.
Partly, Lieb explained, developers are concerned about the online component of GTA VI. For instance, if a horror server appears in GTA Online, it could in some way compete with full-fledged horror games like the Silent Hill series. The same applies to other genres.
GTA VI is set to release on May 26, 2026, for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series.
