Less than $27.4 million was spent on the development of Cronos: The New Dawn
Peter Babieno, President of Bloober Team, mentioned in an interview with PAP Biznes that the production budget for Cronos: The New Dawn was not as large as some analysts assumed.
Babieno did not disclose the exact figure but noted that it was under 100 million zlotys — equivalent to $27.4 million at the current exchange rate.
The executive also stated that the studio is expecting “very good” sales of Cronos: The New Dawn, anticipating that the lion’s share will come from the console version. He sees no issue with the horror game’s release being scheduled the day after Hollow Knight: Silksong. In fact, Babieno considers this timing to be advantageous.
“Paradoxically, releasing Silksong in the same week will only help us. I think many gamers will play both games because, in my opinion, each complements the other. It will be a great week for immersive games. Of course, we are targeting a slightly different audience, but, strangely enough, it will enhance brand recognition,” Babieno explained.
The Bloober Team President hopes that 2025 will be a record year for the studio in terms of revenue.
Speaking of financial records, Babieno added that 2026 and 2027 should be even better years for the studio. Bloober Team plans to release several major games during this period, developed in collaboration with various partners. One of these could be a remake of the first Silent Hill. In June, it was revealed that the Polish studio is working on it, although no release date has been announced yet.
Cronos: The New Dawn is already available to owners of the Deluxe Edition. The full release of the game will be tomorrow, September 5, on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and Nintendo Switch 2.
