The CEO of IO Interactive is uncertain about whether the company will continue publishing third-party games after the failure of MindsEye
It is possible that MindsEye might be the first and only third-party game published by IO Interactive. In an interview with IGN, the company's CEO Hakan Abrak admitted that the future of the IOI Partners label is uncertain.
MindsEye
According to Abrak, MindsEye initially seemed like a promising game to IO Interactive. When the company decided to support the developers from Build A Rocket Boy, it believed that they had great ideas and an intriguing world in the making that could be expanded in the future. However, the game was ultimately met with a lukewarm reception from gamers.
MindsEye did not meet the expectations of either Build A Rocket Boy or IO Interactive. Abrak is aware that the developers are currently making active efforts to regain the lost trust of the audience by improving the game. He hopes that they will indeed manage to fix everything and eventually become a successful team.
Abrak added that IO Interactive will continue to publish their own games. Their next release will be 007 First Light, which is scheduled for release on March 27, 2026, for PC and consoles.
