Resident Evil Requiem secures major victories at the Gamescom Awards 2025

At this year's Gamescom Awards, Capcom emerged as the standout developer, with its game Resident Evil Requiem capturing several top honors, including Best Sony PlayStation Game. Slated for release in February 2026, the title was recognized with awards for Best Visuals, Best Audio, and Most Epic Game.

During the event, Capcom also unveiled a new trailer for Resident Evil Requiem, and a demo was available for attendees to experience on-site. In addition, Capcom's lineup, which included nominated titles Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, earned the company the Best Lineup award from the judging panel.

Ubisoft also secured multiple victories. Anno 117: Pax Romana, the newest entry from Ubisoft Mainz in the genre of city-building real-time strategy, was named Best PC Game. The company also garnered awards for its booth presentations on the exhibition floor.

Nintendo made a notable return in the platform-specific categories after a limited presence in 2024. Their game Mario Kart World was honored with the Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game award, while Donkey Kong Bananza was distinguished for Best Gameplay.

Other remarkable winners included Windup Games' co-op title Hela, which was celebrated in both the Most Wholesome and Most Entertaining categories. Neoludic Games received the Games for Impact award for Tiny Bookshop, praised for promoting the idea of community through reading.

Team Cherry's Hollow Knight: Silksong won the consumer award for Best Trailer, which additionally announced a release date of September 4, 2025, concluding an extended period of anticipation.
