Resident Evil Requiem sweeps the Gamescom Awards 2025
Resident Evil Requiem by Capcom triumphed at the Gamescom Awards, securing the top honor for Best Sony PlayStation Game.
Set for release in February 2026, the game also claimed awards for Best Visuals, Best Audio, and Most Epic.
During the event, Capcom introduced a new trailer for the game, and attendees could experience a demo at the show.
Additionally, Pragmata and Onimusha: Way of the Sword, two other Capcom projects, were nominated, leading the company to win the jury-selected Best Lineup award.
Ubisoft garnered three accolades including Best PC Game for Anno 117: Pax Romana, a real-time strategy city-builder, and awards for its showfloor exhibitions.
Returning to platform-specific categories, Nintendo reappeared after a hiatus in 2024 due to submission shortages. Mario Kart World won Best Nintendo Switch 2 Game, while Donkey Kong Bananza was awarded Best Gameplay.
Windup Games' Hela stood out with two wins in Most Wholesome and Most Entertaining. Meanwhile, Neoludic Games' Tiny Bookshop earned the Games for Impact award, praised for its community-focused message on reading.
Hollow Knight: Silksong captured the Best Trailer consumer award, which also unveiled its release date after a lengthy seven-year anticipation.
