Gamescom 2025 attracted 357,000 attendees

The recent Gamescom 2025 event set an unprecedented milestone with a 6.5% rise in attendance, bringing the total to 357,000 visitors from 128 different nations. This surge reflects an expansion that included an extra entertainment hall, an enlarged indie section, and more outdoor areas.
In 2024, the event recorded 335,000 attendees at Cologne's Koelnmesse.
This year's edition attracted 1,568 exhibitors from 72 nations, with international presence constituting 70%. Numerous country pavilions were featured, and for the first time, Thailand, Dubai, and Kyrgyzstan had booths.
Trade visitor attendance was 34,000, with notable growth from countries such as the US, China, Canada, and Japan.
Digital content from Gamescom also expanded significantly, capturing an audience of over 630 million on Saturday night, which is a 105% increase from the previous year. Among these, 72 million watched the Opening Night Live, marking the highest viewership in the event's seven-year run.
Felix Falk, managing director of the German Games Industry Association, stated that "Gamescom 2025 sets new standards," highlighting its greater size, diversity, and international reach. He emphasized the positive influence games have as part of a global community.
Gerald Böse, president and CEO of Koelnmesse, remarked, "Gamescom 2025 has once again set a new standard for large-scale international events," underscoring the unique blend of business and entertainment delivered by its 1,568 exhibitors across 233,000 square meters of exhibition space.
Böse further noted, "With record numbers evident in nearly every category, the vast array of experiences and international participation solidify Gamescom's position as the premier event for the global gaming community."
Additionally, Devcom 2025 experienced a 6% uptick in participation compared to 2024, drawing 5,400 attendees. In October, this conference will be rebranded as Gamescom Dev.
