The Devcom Developer Conference 2025 witnessed a new attendance milestone, recording a 6% increase from the previous year, bringing in a total of 5,400 attendees.
This year's event saw a significant rise in participation, with 390 speakers taking the stage 220 times across 17 different platforms, marking a 30% increase.
There was representation from 2,500 companies originating from 89 countries, while 53 exhibitors displayed their offerings and innovations.
Stephen Reichart, managing director of game events GmbH and organizer of the conference, reflected on the evolution of the event since its inception in 2017. He noted, "Our aim was to establish a community space for developers worldwide, and it has since become a key venue for exchanging knowledge and fostering connections within the gaming industry."
Reichart remarked further, "Concluding this year with unprecedented attendance lays the groundwork for its future as Gamescom Dev, demonstrating the event’s and its community's significant progress."
Recently, it was announced that from October 2025, the conference will be rebranded as Gamescom Dev.
Reichart also commented on the evolution of the event's identity, "Throughout our journey, people often associated us with the developer aspect of Gamescom. This perception led us to introduce the tagline 'The official game developer conference of Gamescom,’ clarifying the event’s focus."
He concluded, "Now, it is clear that all developer-related content will be under the Gamescom Dev banner."
