Make-A-Wish introduces a program aimed at "empowering the games industry" to fulfill wishes

Make-A-Wish International has introduced a new global initiative called Infinite Wishes. This program seeks to bring together the video games sector to support fulfilling transformational wishes for children facing severe illnesses.

Unveiled on August 13, 2025, via a press release, Infinite Wishes emerged due to a significant increase in gaming-centered wishes. These desires include anything from obtaining a specialized PC to meeting favorite developers.

The program seeks to establish a supportive and adaptable structure for game companies to grant these game-related wishes, ensuring they can have a notable impact regardless of their size or financial capacity.

Offering varying partnership levels and non-monetary participation options, the initiative allows companies to engage in a manner aligned with their resources and objectives.

"Infinite Wishes is about establishing ways for the gaming community to make meaningful contributions, whether it involves sponsoring wishes, hosting a live stream, or merely igniting a new impactful concept," stated April Stallings, the charitable gaming and creators community manager at Make-A-Wish International.

"This initiative gives the passionate and skilled gaming community a purpose-driven outlet, enhancing spirits, creativity, and lives," she added.

A Games Industry Advisory Committee has been formed by Make-A-Wish International to guide the initiative. It includes representatives from companies like Square Enix, Bethesda, Bandai Namco Entertainment, Raccoon Logic, 2K, Deviant Legal, Modoyo, Stream for a Cause, and Dames4Games. Initial members of this committee also feature Raptor PR and PlaySafe ID.

Wouter Van Vugt, the EMEA communications and community engagement senior director at Bandai Namco Entertainment Europe and chair of the advisory committee, stated, "The games industry is now poised to demonstrate its compassion. Infinite Wishes allows our industry to transform collective goodwill into tangible, lasting impact for children in need. Fulfilling a child's wish stands as one of the most significant contributions we can make."
