Fateless secures $14 million in funding for its upcoming cross-platform RPG

Independent developer Fateless has secured $14 million to fund its upcoming role-playing game, Godforge.

The studio, which was established in May 2023 under the HellHades Gaming (HH Gaming) brand, disclosed in July 2024 that it had initially gathered $6 million just 10 weeks after its inception.

Based in the United Kingdom, Fateless announced on August 14, 2025, that it had acquired an additional $8 million in a subsequent funding round.

Fateless attributes the entire $14 million in funding primarily to the support from its HH Gaming and HellHades community.

The financial backing is allocated towards creating Godforge, the studio's first cross-platform RPG, expected to launch in the first quarter of 2026.

The game is currently in its Alpha phase, with the initial wave completed. On August 7, 2025, Fateless released data from this phase on LinkedIn, indicating that 4,421 users participated in the game, accumulating 45,776 hours of gameplay.

Simon "HellHades" Lockerby, co-founder and CEO of Fateless, stated, "With our existing and engaged audience of over two million across our YouTube channels, website, Discord, and social media, we are excited and confident that Godforge will advance the hero collector genre for new players."

Lockerby further emphasized the community's trust in the project, noting their significant role in raising $6 million during the early stages of the company, as well as their vital contribution to the latest funding round.
