The ESA Foundation has granted scholarships to 28 college students

28 university students aiming for careers in game development and esports have been awarded scholarships by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA) Foundation.
This year, the ESA Foundation's scholarship initiative offered two types of scholarships: one for the Computer and Video Games Arts and Sciences and another for Esports, aimed at aiding individuals from underrepresented demographics in the gaming sector.
Out of 125 candidates, 28 were chosen to receive financial assistance ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, fostering their advancement in the gaming field.
The funding for these scholarships was sourced from the annual Nite to Unite event, organized by the ESA Foundation in San Francisco last March.
Beyond receiving financial aid, scholarship recipients gain access to unique career growth initiatives, networking sessions, and are invited to participate in the forthcoming Nite to Unite event.
Scholar Anisa Ozalp described the ESA Foundation Scholarship as a dual support system, easing educational costs and offering a community of passionate peers focused on revolutionizing the gaming arena.
The scholarship is seen as a prestigious acknowledgment for artists, designers, developers, and storytellers from underrepresented groups, celebrating and supporting their contributions.
Since its inception in 2000, the ESA Foundation has provided over 475 scholarships and generated over $24 million for initiatives supporting future gaming industry leaders and innovators.
Sue Madden, the executive director of the ESA Foundation, highlighted the importance of investing in the industry's future by backing students whose diverse perspectives will influence the gaming landscape. Madden emphasized that the scholarship not only offers essential financial aid but also facilitates significant career connections.
The foundation proudly welcomes the 2025 scholarship cohort and extends gratitude to its partners at Nite to Unite for their indispensable support.
