The leads of Cities: Skylines and Life is Strange have launched a new studio in Ireland. They plan to operate on a four-day workweek. The name is fitting — Day Off Interactive
Founded back in 2024, it has only recently stepped out of the shadows.
Day Off Interactive is set to engage in creating "innovative strategies and simulators" (likely referring to economic simulators).
The studio has already commenced the development of its debut title, which it plans to announce later this year.
The source of funding is angel investments. The number of investors and the amount invested have not been disclosed.
One of the distinguishing features of the studio noted by its founders is that the team operates entirely remotely from various parts of Europe, with a workweek of only four days.
The core team consists of six people, including Karoliina Korppoo, a former lead designer for Cities: Skylines, and Des Gayle, a former producer for Life is Strange and Citizen Sleeper.
A positive development team: Karoliina is third from the left, and Des is fifth
