The Global Gaming League (GGL) is set to debut later this month with freshly inked deals with six prominent game publishers. These agreements highlight the inclusion of games from Activision Blizzard, Bandai Namco, Capcom, Tetris, Ubisoft, and Electronic Arts in its innovative league, which is driven by celebrity involvement.

According to a statement from August 4, the GGL will kick off its inaugural season, "SZN Zero," on August 23, 2025. It will feature celebrity-owned squads of four competing across four distinct game genres, a format the league likens to a blend of "the NFL and WWE."

A few of the famous figures participating as team proprietors include wrestling icon Rick Flair, hip-hop legend Flavor Flav of Public Enemy, musician and league's Executive Director of Strategy T-Pain, as well as TikTok influencer Bryce Hall.

Through its partnerships, the league has secured the right to use various games in its initial season. The lineup features popular titles such as Tetris, Trackmania, Call of Duty, Tony Hawk Pro Skater, Brawlhalla, Tekken, and Rocket League, all of which will be available for global streaming.

GGL's founder and CEO, Clinton Sparks, expressed enthusiasm about the league's potential. "After discussing our vision, it becomes clear how significant the GGL's impact could be. Our league is set to bridge the gap between gamers of all ages, uniting them in an unprecedented way," he remarked. "The collaborations allow us to compile diverse game titles appealing to everyone, promising to elevate the gaming sector by featuring contributions from publishers, hardware creators, sponsors, and importantly, the gaming community worldwide."
