Sea of Stars turned out to be seven times more successful than its creators expected
The circulation of the turn-based RPG Sea of Stars has significantly exceeded the most optimistic forecasts of the developers from Sabotage Studio. The game director, Thierry Boulanger, in a conversation with Game Informer, stated that their goal was surpassed by approximately seven times.

Sabotage Studio has previously boasted about the successes of its creation. In September 2023, the studio reported that Sea of Stars had achieved its annual sales target within its debut week — selling 250,000 copies at that time.
Boulanger did not disclose current sales figures for Sea of Stars. He admitted that he doesn’t have exact statistics at hand right now but knows that by the end of spring, the game had reached "much more than 6 million people." Sabotage Studio reported this 6 million figure in November 2024.
Boulanger added that Sea of Stars performed "fantastically" on the PS Plus subscription service, though he did not specify how many people completed the game through it.
