Tech innovator JECO, based in the UK, has successfully raised $1.3 million, equivalent to £960,000, for its expansion. The funding round, preceding the company's seed stage, was championed by the British Business Bank, in conjunction with The Games Angels investment group.

On July 30, JECO publicized this financial boost, with an endorsement from Mark Barry, a senior director of investments at the British Business Bank. Barry expressed satisfaction with the collaboration, noting that it supports the bank’s efforts to invigorate the UK’s local economies and channel resources into pioneering entrepreneurs.

JECO was co-founded by Emily Bailey, an influential member of the inaugural UK Video Games Council and co-founder of Antler Studios, along with Simon Barratt, a former co-founder of Four Door Lemon and currently leading Cooperative Innovations. The company brands itself as a transformative B2B tech solution, designed to enhance software development by streamlining performance improvements while cutting production time, cost, and environmental impact through an automated optimization toolkit.

Bailey highlighted, "The inspiration for JECO came from a desire to simplify and enhance developers' workflows, enabling more efficient paths to market while contributing to environmental improvements. The support from our investors is immensely appreciated as it empowers us to drive significant positive change in developer culture through technology."

JECO has detailed plans to allocate a noticeable portion of the raised capital towards boosting its marketing strategies. However, the primary allocation will focus on the development of a specialized energy monitoring dashboard app. This innovative app is designed to autonomously evaluate and report on operational expenses, hardware details, and carbon usage, and is slated for launch in the last quarter of 2025.

Nick Button-Brown, who once chaired the BAFTA Games Committee and now leads The Games Angels, commented on the current gaps in software development. "It's a sector plagued with inefficiencies due to rapid development and budget constraints where performance considerations are often delayed. Emily and Simon have constructed a promising team dedicated to addressing these flaws, making investment in JECO a straightforward decision. Their progress has been remarkable, and I foresee them making a notable impact in the industry moving forward."
