The creator of Dead Space and The Callisto Protocol does not rule out the possibility of stopping game development
Industry veteran Glen Schofield shared in a LinkedIn post that he was unable to secure funding for his next game. Now, he is considering stepping away from development entirely.

According to Schofield, for the past eight months, he and a small team have been working on an unannounced game. The concept for the title was created by his daughter, Nicole. It was intended to be a groundbreaking entry in the horror genre. Together, they developed a prototype and reached out to investors, but the reaction from potential partners was not what Schofield had anticipated.
The game designer stated that, in general, investors liked the game, but not its proposed budget. Schofield planned to spend $17 million on the game. Initially, investors asked to reduce the figure to $10 million, and later to $2-5 million.
Ultimately, the decision was made recently to cancel the game and disband its team.
“I'm still creating art, writing stories, coming up with ideas, and still rooting for the industry. But I may have directed my last game. Who knows? If that's the case, thank you for playing my games,” Schofield said.
