"Rostelecom" has relaunched its own platform with game keys

The company "Rostelecom" has indeed decided to re-enter the digital game store market. It announced the launch of a "gaming showcase" where keys for titles on Steam and consoles are sold.

Currently, the platform's catalog contains 4,500 games. Some of them are officially unavailable for purchase in Russia through the same Steam platform. For example, LEGO Horizon Adventures, Dragon’s Dogma 2, Cyberpunk 2077, and Helldivers 2. The company plans to add more popular games like Kingdom Come: Deliverance II soon.

In addition to keys, "Rostelecom" has decided to sell in-game currency for free-to-play titles and cards to top up account balances in the PS Store, Nintendo eShop, Game Pass, EA Play, and other services. However, at least for PS Store cards, there is a significant markup — a $100 card will cost 14,700 rubles (discounted, without the discount — 19,700 rubles). At the current exchange rate, $100 is approximately equal to 8,000 rubles.

This is already Rostelecom's third attempt to establish itself in the store niche, following previous efforts in 2015 and 2019.
