Nintendo announces casting for Link and Zelda in the live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda film

A live-action adaptation of The Legend of Zelda has cast Bo Bragason and Benjamin Evan Ainsworth as the titular characters Zelda and Link.
The announcement came from Shigeru Miyamoto, the acclaimed creator of the Zelda series, through Nintendo's social media. He expressed his excitement about the cast, stating his eager anticipation to see them in the film.
The movie, under the direction of Wes Ball, known for his work on Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, is slated for release on May 7, 2027. This release date marks a slight postponement from its initially scheduled debut in March 2027, as disclosed last month.

Bragason gained recognition for her role in the popular BBC crime series The Jetty, and also starred in the Disney+ family series Renegade Nell.
Ainsworth appeared in Netflix’s horror drama The Haunting of Bly Manor and provided the voice for Pinocchio in the 2022 live-action adaptation by Disney+.
Sony Pictures is handling the distribution of the film, with Shigeru Miyamoto and Avi Arad, known for Spider-Man, serving as producers.
