Nintendo plans to terminate its Switch Game Voucher service

Nintendo has announced the cessation of its Switch Game Voucher program.
As of 11:59 p.m. on January 30, 2026, it will no longer be possible to acquire Nintendo Switch Game Vouchers, according to the statement by the Japanese company on their website.
These game vouchers are an exclusive offer for Nintendo Switch Online members. Sold in pairs, they provide discounts on qualifying eShop titles, allowing subscribers to purchase premium games at reduced prices.
While Nintendo did not specify why the program is ending, it expressed gratitude to users for engaging with the Nintendo Switch Online service. The company also reminded users that vouchers must be used within 12 months of purchase.
Consequently, vouchers bought on the cut-off date of January 30, 2026, will remain valid until January 30, 2027, at which point all will expire.
Though the vouchers will not be applicable for Switch 2 games, Nintendo did announce that new games would still be added to the Game Voucher catalog throughout 2026, even after the service is phased out.
Recently, Nintendo also discussed issues related to Switch 2’s pricing, its supply and demand, and concerns over Game-Key Cards.
