The UK Video Games Council has announced its first group of members, featuring notable figures such as Jason Kingsley CBE and Nick Button-Brown

The UK government has revealed the composition of the newly formed UK Video Games Council. This body aims to collaborate with the government to foster the development, creativity, and global presence of the nation's video games and interactive media sectors. Sir Chris Bryant MP, who oversees Creative Industries, Arts, and Tourism, will receive reports from this council.
Jointly leading the council are Jason Kingsley CBE, CEO of Rebellion Games, and Nick Button-Brown, chair of Outright Games. Other initial members include:

Bryant emphasized the leading status of the UK's video game industry, describing it as an integral aspect of the nation's creative economy. He expressed ambition to position the UK as the premier location for investing in creativity and innovation, by establishing the UK Video Games Council, which will articulate industry perspectives. He eagerly anticipates partnering with its members to further advance the exceptional growth of the UK's gaming sector.
Assistance to the council will come from UKIE and TIGA, with members initially appointed for up to three years. They are expected to meet biannually, delivering strategies to harness the full economic, cultural, and educational potentials within the UK's gaming industry.
In addition to the council, the government has commenced other initiatives, including a new $40.5 million (£30 million) funding to bolster the UK Games Fund, which aims to enhance British game development.
